This module teaches basic digital forensic acquisition and evidence management skills. An overview of computer architectures, storage technologies and interfaces, and introduces the principles of forensically sound imaging – participants will learn about forensic write-blockers, the management of digital evidence, and the use of cryptographic hashing to preserve and verify evidence integrity.

Ammissione

Degree from a university or higher professional education (HF, federal diploma).  Professional experience in the field of cyber security / forensics.

Target Audience

  • Experienced forensic investigators who want to increase their technical skills in digital forensics and cyber investigations.
  • Experienced engineers and technicians who want to transition into the field of digital forensics and cyber investigations.

The course offers the opportunity to take a final exam which will provide the student with 3 ECTS or 40 CPE credits for subsequent CAS or MAS degrees in Digital Forensics & Cyber Investigation.
